You might have spotted Indygenous posters in our winter pop up shop back in December, and we’re really excited to welcome designer Steve Shubert back to Handmade Promenade on Mass Ave next Friday, May 2nd. Steve designs original posters and postcards focus on using Midwestern metropolises as inspiration to create localized, city-specific works of art.
Indygenous (pronounced like the word indigenous) uses various styles, drawing upon vintage pop art, political art, and nostalgic references to create all a feeling that is true to our urban spaces. Aside from poster featuring our fair city, he also has a few which nod to our state’s more industrial past, including a personal favorite of Gary, Indiana.
Indygenous posters and postcards will be available for you to purchase at our one day event on First Friday, May 2nd on Mass Ave. We will be located at 646 Mass Ave (outside on the grassy area). Just look for our tents and all the awesome makers! See you there!
