Everyone knows it can be hard to buy for the men in their lives, and even harder to find that perfect gift. With Christmas only (gasp!) six days away, if you haven’t started shopping yet, you might be feeling like a gift certificate or mass-produced Wal-Mart/Target/Dick’s Sporting Goods items might be the only way to go. If you swore to give handmade but think you are out of time, think again. Today I am here to help! I’ve got a list of over 12 different gifts for guys ranging in price from under $10 to $60 and all available right this minute at the Handmade Promenade Holiday Pop-Up Shop. We’re located at 811 Massachusetts Ave in Downtown Indy (we’re holding fort inside the Art Bank). We’ve got free parking, and if you ask, we’ll even pull out some wine or beer for you to enjoy while you shop. Where else can you do that?
So, without further ado, here are the best gift picks at the pop-up shop for men. We only have limited quantities of some items, so don’t delay in stopping by to pick out the perfect gift!
Have a dude friend who likes to cook? Help him spruce up his kitchen with a pair of plaid pot-holders from Quiltytherapy. These pot holders were designed just for men. Why? Because nothings worse than having to use Mom’s hand-me-down potholders or (blah!) plain old solid colors! $8.00 for a set of two potholders, and we’ve got 3 unique pairs in stock.
Is your man a little bit of a goof ball? Does he love vintage AND scary monsters? He might just need a Bebito neck tie! Each neck tie features a unique monster hand sewn onto the tie and comes wrapped with tie-tying instructions, just in case. Each tie is $16.00 and we’ve got 6 unique ties to choose from.
Admittedly, these next two suggestions aren’t for every man. If your guy is a lumberjack, a astronaut, or deep-sea fisherman, he may very well guffaw at the idea of lotions and scrubs and candles, but not all men are scared to take care of their skin, and all of these products offer just that! Mocha Tree Organics “Oakmoss Geranium” body creme and body polish were designed just for men. The creme is $12 and the polish $15. The polish is great in the shower for scrubbing off a hard day’s work, and the creme isn’t greasy and provides just enough moisture to keep skin from cracking, peeling, or flaking.
Up next is the Clyde line of body balm candles by Chicago-based crafter Bonnie. These candles aren’t just regular, good smelling candles (though they do smell great) they also act as a liquid lotion. Once the wick is lit, allow wax to pool and then dip fingers in and massage into skin. A little goes a long way, but the lotion is greatly moisturizing. We’ve got scents for men including grass, spiced balsam, leather, white pine, vanilla oak, and sandalwood (we’ve also got some holiday scents which could go either way- blackberry sage and blood orange and clove!). Body balm candles are $12.00 each and we have a couple of each scent in stock- but they are selling fast!
Does your dude need a nice mug or bowl to enjoy breakfast cereal or his morning coffee? These microwave and dishwasher safe dishes from Angela Vinson would be sure to please! Mugs and bowls are $20.00 each. We have a nice selection in stock of both!
Is your man a guitar hero? This fused glass guitar from 502 Art Glass might make a perfect sun catcher in that empty basement practice window! This is the ONLY guitar we have in stock, so if you want it, you better hustle on in! $50.00 is the price tag on this one of a kind piece of fused glass!
If your man likes to look good, I would highly suggest some amazing wooden “man jewelry” from CaseMethod. We’ve got belt buckles, cuff links, tie tacks, and tie bars ranging in price from $20 to about $40.00 each. We have a great selection of dark or light woods, and even a very beautiful “purple heart” wood tie tack and cufflinks which would make a lovely gift for a grandpa!
If any man in your life loves beer, then this is the gift for him. Created in Indianapolis by Tuxedo Park Brewing Company, these Beer Cube Kits are everything you need to brew a batch of beer (except a pot to boil in and the water!). Choose from ESB, Cream Stout, Irish Stout, Pale Ale, or Wheat kits. One if the best things about this kit is that you can re-use it again and again by picking up new kits at Tuxedo Park Brewing Supply. This kit is great for the man who wants to brew but doesn’t have a lot of space. Whole Grain Beer Cube Kits are just $50!
If you have a man in your life who loves books, then one of these great gifts from Conduit Press might be just right for him. We’ve got hollow book safes which safely and snugly hold a flask (flask included!) or we have fantastic book clocks. How great would a book clock look on his office or library wall? Flask books cost $50 each and we only have 3 titles left to choose from! Book clocks are $60 each and we have 4 titles to choose from including a Lemony Snicket book clock which would be a great gift for the little man in your life!
